Academic Forum to Discuss the Establishment of the Australian Consensus Centre at UWA – a Centre linked with Dr Bjorn Lomborg.

Date:  Friday 24 April 15

Time:  12 noon to 1 pm

Venue:  Ernst & Young Lecture Theatre located at UWA Business School

The UWA Academic Staff Association is hosting a forum for UWA academics to voice their views and concerns about the establishment of the Australian Consensus Centre within the Business School. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Paul Johnson and the Dean of the Business School, Professor Phil Dolan, have accepted an invitation to join the Forum.

The establishment of the Centre has drawn nation-wide comment and generated divergent narratives about its genesis, its aims and its likely impact on UWA.  The purpose of the Forum is to allow UWA academics to voice their concerns, ask questions and have them addressed by the Vice Chancellor and the Dean of the Business School.

UWA’s press release about the establishment of the Centre is accessible at the site below.

  1. Good to see a forum for true clarification, discussion, and direct feedback on academic response to this unexpected rising of another “Consensus” Centre. The Copenhagen Center has not actually engendered much consensus… Hope many will take the opportunity to attend the forum Friday at 12 at the E&Y lecture theatre in the Business school down on the south end of campus.
