You will be aware that there has been an ongoing discussion on campus on the topic of freedom of speech, a discussion that seems to be occurring across Australia and the world.
The relationship between freedom of speech and academic freedom is also of significance here. What the University might do, or not do, to protect staff whose teaching requires them to express controversial views is an important question.
